YMCA Mind & Body Wellness Challenge

With YMCA facilities and programs shut down because of COVID-19 restrictions, keeping active and connected can be a real challenge. “The pandemic is taking a toll on people’s health; their physical health and perhaps even more so, their mental health,” says David Allen, President & CEO, YMCA of Central East Ontario. Now, more than ever, it’s important to be taking steps toward our mental and physical well-being.

The YMCA Mind & Body Wellness Challenge will run from February 5 – March 5, 2021 and is a fun way to explore a variety of strategies and activities for health and well-being. A new set of challenges will be posted to ymcaofceo.ca each week and will feature a variety of activities that are aimed at boosting mental and physical well-being. Pick an activity or two to complete each day and participate in this free challenge at your own pace.

David Allen shares, “We want to be there for our communities, even when we can’t be together in person. We hope people take some time for themselves and participate in this fun challenge. It’s time to beat the winter blahs and do something good for ourselves.”

Participants can will have a chance to win a variety of YMCA prizes by using the hashtag #YMCAMindBodyChallenge and tagging us in their Facebook and Instagram posts with a photo or explanation of how they completed the day’s challenge.

Alternatively, entries can be emailed to claire.kennedy@ceo.ymca.ca.
