Original Map of Hundred Acre Wood Sells For Over Half A Million Dollars

A map of the Hundred Acre Wood, drawn by the original Winnie- the-Pooh artist .H. Shepard, from 1926, just sold at auction for $570,000.  The map appears on the inside cover of the original book the auction house called it “possibly the most famous map in children’s literature.”

The original drawing of the map was first sold by Shepard in 1926 and it remained in a private collection and has mostly been unseen for over 50 years.
Other original sketches of Pooh made by Shepard were also part of the sale, the other sketches were estimated to be worth between $80,000 and $160,000
