The cassette player is being brought into the future. We just passed the 40th anniversary of the Sony Walkman. And we all know there have been a jump in sales for vinyl, why can’t cassettes get some of that glory?
What better way to give cassettes some attention than to make a cassette player with Bluetooth capabilities? That’s exactly what NIMN LAB has done. The player is called “It’s OK” and it is capable of pairing with Bluetooth headphones and speakers. It does also have the option to listen with tradition plug-in headphones with a 3.5mm jack.
NINM LAB has hundreds of backers on Kickstarter and, as of writing this (July 6), they still have a month to get all the funds they need. You can check out their Kickstarter and full description of the product here.
It costs $63 which seems kind of steep but let’s not forget that when the Sony Walkman first came out it cost over $100. Do you remember what the first cassette you play in your new Walkman was? Comment below!
