A binge watching contract?

I don’t remember life before binge watching culture. Waiting a week between episodes is a thing of the past. But, if you’re bingeing a show with a friend or significant other, there can be problems. They can betray you and watch some of the show without you or maybe they were scrolling through their Instagram feed and they saw a spoiler that they decided to share with you.

Netflix sees the problem and have come up with a solution. A “Co-watching Contract”. Both parties watching the show sign the contract, with Netflix as the witness, all in the hopes that you can civilly watch your favourite show with someone without having the experience ruined.

The rules of the contract are pretty common and if the contract is broken, I think you’ll have to handle the penalty by yourself. Although, I’m sure that people have been taken to court over weirder things than violating a binge watching contract. You can check out the contract below. Would you present this to your co-watching buddy to lay down the law?

If you know, you know.
