Today, October 10th, 2019 is World Mental Health Day, a day for learning, understanding, and supporting those with mental health issues. Research shows that 1 in 5 people live with a mental health concern, that means that you probably know someone with an illness, and may not even be aware of it. I have lived with depression and anxiety for a good portion of my life, which is why I am a big advocate to help those who need it, and to do my part in erasing the stigma sounding mental illness. Communication and understanding are key steps in helping people realize that mental health issues are nothing to be ashamed of, and there is help and resources available to help you feel like “you” again.
