Nintendo is marking a pretty major milestone – it’s been 35 years since the iconic NES arrived in North America.
It was October of 1985 that the NES gaming console was first unleashes in the US. Few expected it to have the cultural impact it did- but that signature controller soon became a household essential.
Nintendo had originally released a system called the Famicom in Japan, which was particularly successful because of its revolutionary graphics and different games. That device was an early version of what the NES would later be — including that cross-shaped joypad controller and the A and B buttons.
