Earlier this morning (Wednesday, February 24, 2021) it was announced that the Tragically Hip will receive the 2021 Humanitarian Award at the upcoming Juno Awards on March 28th. During the Hip’s 33 year run as band they gave to countless charities and organizations including Camp Trillium, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Sunnybrook Foundation, and the Special Olympics; so not only were they one of Canada’s most beloved bands, they also had the biggest hearts. I’m sure on the night of March 28, 2021 fans will be tuning in to see the band being honoured with the deserved 2021 Humanitarian Award, and wishing that we hadn’t lost Gord Downie 4 years ago so that he could be part of the celebration. The Tragically Hip released 14 studio albums during their career and everyone has their favourite songs from each… below is one of mine from Up To Here. Another Midnight is tucked in between Trickle Down and Opiated which rounds out the album, it wasn’t actually a radio hit, but it is one that has me going back for a repeated listen when the album is playing. Check out the track below.
