It’s been a busy 2023 for Damon Albarn thus far, and it’s only five months into the year. First off, Damon served up a new album with The Gorillaz – Cracker Island in February, and now with the band Blur having ended their second hiatus, a new song titled: The Narcissist has been released, and a new album titled: The Ballad of Darren is slated to drop on July 21, 2023. Members of Blur have stated that stated that “fans can expect to hear a more emotional side of the band”. If the single: The Narcissist is any indication of what the rest of the album will sound like, then we may be seeing an older, gentler Blur.
