Peterborough’s most appetizing event, Taste of Downtown, returns to Charlotte Street on Saturday, June 2 from 11 am to 5 pm.
Come out and enjoy delicious cuisine from more than 28 local restaurants, enjoy a beverage in the beer and wine garden hosted by The Venue and Publican House, and take in some amazing live entertainment.
Shorelines Casinos and Galaxy Cinemas are sponsoring this year’s entertainment. Now in its third year, the multicultural stage returns with creative music and dance:
• 11am — Beany John, traditional indigenous hoop dancer
• 12pm — Maria Chan, Guzheng (Chinese zither)
• 1:30pm — Jerry Jerome Duo, steel drums
• 3:30pm — Hogtown Sound, instrumental covers of pop hits
Live music in the beer garden includes Missy Knott at 11am, Carling Stephen at 1:15pm and Carrie Chesnutt at 3:30pm.
Don’t miss aerial entertainment from the Peterborough Academy of Circus Arts, pop-up live art demonstrations from the Art School of Peterborough, a free Calico Critters-themed play area, face painting and a bouncy castle.
Be sure to check out some amazing deals as the businesses along Charlotte Street put on a giant sidewalk sale.
“Taste of Downtown has become one of the most unique local events, from the musical entertainment to the food,” says Terry Guiel, Executive Director of the DBIA. “We have a busy summer of amazing local events lined up in the downtown and we’re ready to kick things off this Saturday.”
