But there’s still more to do. Sixty four percent of Canadians have a disability or live with or take care of someone who does, and this continues to grow as our population ages

    Join The Peterborough Historical Society, Tuesday, October 20, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM for Bo Pickett’s Presentation ‘A Life’s Work on Ice: Preserving the Flooded F.L. Roy Film Collection.’ Bo Pickett is a Peterborough (or at least Keene) local with a passion for film and photographic history. After getting his Bachelor’s in History from the University of Ottawa in 2023, Bo attended Toronto Metropolitan University’s Film + Photography Preservation and Collection Management graduate program, earning his Master’s in 2025. Since 2018, Bo has been with the Peterborough Museum & Archives through repeated internships and short-term contracts, and is currently the Archives Assistant at the PMA.

    On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Peterborough Petes will take on the Oshawa Generals at the Peterborough Memorial Centre in the first-ever Blue Ribbon Battle, a special night of hockey dedicated to supporting men and families affected by prostate cancer. Presented by Prostate Cancer Support Peterborough and Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada (PCFC), the Blue Ribbon Battle is inspired by the Petes’ Pink in the Rink and brings the same community spirit to prostate cancer. Funds raised will support Prostate Cancer Support Peterborough and prostate care in the region.
