Send A Kid To Camp AXE-Travaganza

An evening of friendly axe throwing competition to help enrich the lives of children in our community.

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation in partnership with Herod Financial Services, and supported by AON, Chemong Family Dental, KOMFS, Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn and Paris Marine, are excited to announce they are bringing back the Send a Kid to Camp AXE-travaganza fundraising event on Friday, May 5th at the Peterborough Axe Club.

2023 is the 40th Anniversary of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation. When the Foundation was established in 1983, sending kids to camp was our primary purpose. They have expanded the scope of support, yet summer camp has remained a priority program. Summer camp can offer disadvantaged children much more than a vacation. Camp is also an opportunity to connect with new friends, to meet and build relationships with caring adults and counselors, and to get outside and just be a kid. The goal is to foster feelings of inclusion and belonging in children and build their self-confidence – camp helps to do this.

Over the past 40 years, the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation has sent over 5340 kids to summer camp. Their goal is help 200 children involved with the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society attend camp this summer.

By participating in the Send a Kid to Camp AXE-travaganza presented by Herod Financial Services, you can ensure local at-risk children have the opportunity to experience the joy of camp this summer.

Tickets are available for $50 per person. There are two time slots of axe throwing fun available on May 5th at 5:30-7:30 p.m. or 8:00-10:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.khcas.on.ca/foundation/axe
