Cram – A – Cruiser

In support of Kawartha Foodshare, this Thanksgiving weekend inititive takes place at participating Sobey’s and Foodland locations in our area.

You can drop by at a participating location, drop off a donation, purchase a pre-packed bag of non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation.

Items most needed during this year’s food drive are:

  • Tuna, fish and meats
  • Canned vegetables
  • Pasta sauce
  • Pasta
  • Pork and beans
  • Mac and cheese
  • Soup/stew
  • Canned pasta

The dates and locations for this year’s event are as follows:

Thursday October 10, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Sobeys Landsdowne Street
  • Sobeys Towerhill
  • Foodland Hunter Street
  • Foodland Sherbrooke Street

Friday October 11, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Sobeys Lansdowne Street
  • Sobeys Towerhill
  • Foodland Lakefield

The Kawartha Food Share currently assists more than 8,100 men women and children every month through its 36 member agencies. This includes their four meal programs, four City food banks, six housing projects, seven county food banks, and more than 20 food cupboards across the City & County of Peterborough. Last year their warehouse distributed more than 5 million dollars worth of food and emergency care needs.

During the 2019 Cram-A-Cruiser, approximately 18,000lbs of food was donated through this event.
