One Night In The Phillipines

Following a successful refresh of the event format last year, the cocktail-style fundraiser will take place on Saturday March 2 at ARIA. Members of the local Filipino community will put together an authentic menu for the reception. The Northumberland Multicultural Dance Troupe, headed by Thelma Dillon, will present a variety of folk dances hailing from various parts of the Philippines. Round off the night with the dynamic five-piece band EZRock, a regular at the popular Bistro Manila in Toronto.

Ed Kloosterman and Valerie Anderson have been working closely with the event team to plan and promote the event. “We believe that the New Canadians Centre has been a catalyst for bringing people and community partners towards a common goal – building a community where everyone feels at home. It has been our experience that the NCC always throws a great party that you do not want to miss”.

“One Night in the Philippines” takes place on Saturday, March 2 at ARIA in downtown Peterborough. Enjoy the graceful dances by the Northumberland Multicultural Dance Troupe, the vibrant energy of EZRock and traditional Filipino foods at a cocktail-style reception. Take part in the exciting live auction where prizes include a pair of Vegas Golden Knight tickets and Westjet flight voucher, an exclusive tasting and tour at Black’s Distillery with appetizers from Ashburnham Ale House, homemade Indian dinner for 12 and more.  Dine and dance the night away! Doors open at 6:00 pm and the evening’s host is Jan Michael Itong.

Tickets are $150 each and a tax receipt for a portion of the ticket price will be e-mailed after the event date.  For more information regarding “One Night in the Philippines” and to purchase tickets, visit nccpeterborough.ca or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
